Job Summary

Location: Morgantown, WV

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Design involvement of both new product and existing product improvement.
  2. Assist operations with manufacture or repair of KAMAT products.
  3. Ensure all manufacturing drawings meet Swanson strict design standards.
  4. Assist Longwall Shop with pre-ordering rebuild parts.
  5. Assist with work in process in all Swanson production locations.
  6. Provide technical support to the field service manager.
  7. Assist customer service department with customer’s technical inquiries.
  8. Assist operations in documentation and record keeping.
  9. Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
  10. Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers.
  11. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, meetings, workshops, etc.
  12. Perform related duties as assigned.
  13. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must have a high school diploma.
  2. Must have associate’s degree in Drafting/Design Technology, or related field.
  3. Must have minimum of three (3) years of experience in drafting or equivalent experience.
  4. Must have prior 3D modeling experience.
  5. Experience with Autodesk Inventor preferred.
  6. Advanced problem-solving skills.
  7. Strong attention to detail and mathematical abilities.
  8. Performs work under minimal supervision.
  9. Ability to work as part of a team.
  10. Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  11. Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and follow directions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job duties consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  2. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  3. Ability to work safely and adhere to the Swanson Safety System in daily job duties.
  4. Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  5. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  6. Ability to perform repetitive motions.
  7. Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
