Job Summary
Location: Morgantown, WV
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design involvement of both new product and existing product improvement.
- Assist operations with manufacture or repair of KAMAT products.
- Ensure all manufacturing drawings meet Swanson strict design standards.
- Assist Longwall Shop with pre-ordering rebuild parts.
- Assist with work in process in all Swanson production locations.
- Provide technical support to the field service manager.
- Assist customer service department with customer’s technical inquiries.
- Assist operations in documentation and record keeping.
- Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
- Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, meetings, workshops, etc.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a high school diploma.
- Must have associate’s degree in Drafting/Design Technology, or related field.
- Must have minimum of three (3) years of experience in drafting or equivalent experience.
- Must have prior 3D modeling experience.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor preferred.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical abilities.
- Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and follow directions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job duties consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Ability to work safely and adhere to the Swanson Safety System in daily job duties.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions.
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
