Job Summary
Location: Morgantown, WV
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, analyze, and review the financial statements using accounting principles.
- Performs month-end closing duties including journal entries, month-end reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.
- Responsible for inventory reporting, cost updates, transaction controls, excess and obsolete reserve analysis.
- Coordinates annual physical inventory as well as assists in cycle count program implementation.
- Completes ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
- Performs monthly revenue recognition in accordance with ASC606.
- Assist with annual audit preparations.
- Reconcile monthly bank statements.
- Updates the weekly cash forecast.
- Maintains, controls, and updates price lists in ERP system.
- Reconcile quarterly rebates and royalties.
- Responsible for General Ledger maintenance and control.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, meetings, workshops, etc.
- Perform related duties as assigned by Controller.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Must have minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting; Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
- Must have General Ledger experience.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
- Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and follow directions.
- Advance computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, ERP system, and report/query development.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job duties consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Ability to work safely and adhere to the Swanson Safety System in daily job duties.
